Bill's Lake is a quiet, tiny (42-acre) stocked trout lake just south of Saginas Lake about 44km from Hudson Bay. Although the lake is not in Porcupine Hills Provincial Park it is directly across the highway from it.

There is no sign for the lake off the highway, so you'll need to drive slowly and keep your eyes open for the trail. You'll have to park in the ditch and walk down a short trail to the lake.

There is a really nice fishing dock at the lake itself and a spot beside the dock where you could launch a canoe or kayak. There are no other amenities or services at the lake but the campgrounds at McBride Lake and Parr Hill Lake aren't too far away.

Bill's Lake is stocked yearly with Rainbow Trout.

Birchbark Lake is a large pretty, lake in central Saskatchewan. It is located 53km NE of Prince Albert and 29.5 SSE of the Resort Village of Candle Lake. Access to the lake is from a grid road connected to Highway 55.

The road can be pretty rough and I wouldn't recommend pulling a trailer in unless if you've scouted ahead to see what state the road is in.

Birchbark Lake recreation site is located on the southeast side of the lake. There is a primitive launch and a few campsites but no other facilities/amenities.

I don't have any fish reported in Birchbark Lake, but I would assume there are a few species in here.

Birchbark Creek flows from the north end of the lake into Hunt Lake, and from there into Torch Lake.

Brightsand Lake is a popular recreational lake (11,235 acres) located 65km SSW of Meadow Lake (City) and 25km E of St. Walburg. The lake is accessible from Highways 795 and 796.

Brightsand Lake Regional Park is located on the north end of the lake and features a golf course, restaurant, camping, beach, boat launch, trout pond and more. The Regional Park also has some of the best hiking trails I've ever seen in a Regional Park with some really well done interpretive signs.

Brightsand Lake is located in the southern fishing zone and Northern Pike, Cisco, Lake Whitefish, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in the lake. A number of different species have been stocked over the years, most recently northern pike, but the lake hasn't been stocked since 2011.

There is also a stocked trout pond within the Regional Park. Nearby Turtle Lake is also a popular fishing destination.

Burtlein Lake is a very pretty, tiny stocked trout lake in Narrow Hills Provincial Park. The lake is at the north end of the park just south of Sealey Lake. Burtlein Lake is accessible off the Hanson Lake Road. There is a pull-off along the highway but no sign so keep your eyes open.

The lake is frequently stocked with both Tiger Trout and Splake. There is a launch site for boats/canoes accessible at the end of a trail from the highway. Please note there is a Max 5hp motor restriction on the lake.

Like many of the lakes along the highway be prepared to find a lot of garbage and even human waste at the start of the trail, I'd recommend not wearing flip-flops. Once you get further down the trail though you'll be rewarded with a very quiet, and pretty little lake. It's a great spot for a paddle or to try and get some trout.

The lake of the day for today is Burton Lake.

Burton Lake is a small incredibly round stocked lake located 7.5km N of Humboldt. Highway 20 curves around the lake and follows the shore.

There are a few unmarked pull-offs from the highway with access to the lake. Be careful when pulling off and on the highway, there can be a bit of a drop! Another access on the south end of the lake has a bit of a parking lot. No boat launch on the lake, but it should be possible to launch a small boat or canoe/kayak.

The lake is periodically stocked with Walleye Fry. You'll find Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Walleye, and Common Carp in the lake.

This is not the prettiest lake out there, but it's nicely located just off the highway and is a decent fishing or paddling destination without travelling too far! It's also one of the farthest north locations where you're able to fish for Carp.
