Little Amyot Lake Recreation Site is 24km ENE and Lac La Plonge Recreation Site is 10km NNE of Bella Lake.
Bella Lake was named after Julius Bella on 1963-02-07 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
