The lake is in the northern fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike and Walleye can be found in Bovair Lake.

Bovair Lake was named after Douglas Jay Bovair on 1958-07-03 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
