The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike and Walleye can be found in Bolan Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake.
Besnard Lake Recreation Site is 18km N of Bolan Lake.
Bolan Lake was named after Morris Vaughan Bolan on 1962-09-11 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
