Limestone Lake Recreation Site is 10km NW and Deschambault Lake (South East Arm) Recreation Site is 6.1km WNW of Vagg Lake.
Vagg Lake was named after Robert Arthur James Vagg on 1952-12-11 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
