Scheelhaase Island Wildlife Refuge is 23km NNE and Hanson Lake Recreation Site is 16km SSE of Crang Lake.
Crang Lake was named after William Reginald Noel Crang on 1954-06-03 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
