Matthew Siemens

Hi, I'm Matthew!

I'm a self-employed (aka fun-employed) software developer living in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. I'm passionate about the outdoors and enjoy hiking, kayaking, biking, gardening, swimming, and camping.

My wife and I have a small cabin just north of Prince Albert, and there aren't many days throughout the year where I'm not swimming, paddling, skiing, or enjoying one of our amazing lakes.

You can contact me directly at [email protected].

I camped here a few years ago, and stopped in last fall to check out the lake again! Beautiful little spot!

Stopped in and visited the regional park and had a picnic. It's a lot bigger than I remember. Tons of campsites, lots of facilities, a really nice beach, a trout pond with an accessible dock, and a lot of hiking trails.

Small lake, was getting a bit green. The campground on the lake is one of the best looking ones in the province though!

The Regional Park is really great! Beautiful beach and day-use area, a great campground, and is basically in the town of Shell Lake. Excellent family-friendly destination. Went for a swim, the beach was great!

No public access to that lake that I could find, supposedly there is a boat launch next to the subdivision, but I wasn't able to find it this trip.

It's the only one with them listed from HabiSK. Honestly they haven't been stocked since 1998 so I'm not sure how many are still surviving in here anymore. They were stocked in a few other lakes around the same time, but I don't believe they proved viable in any other lakes.

Candle Lake was last stocked with some Northern Pike in 1994 and before that hasn't been stocked since the 50's. There is stocked trout in Musker Trout Pond though!
