The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike and Walleye can be found in Twigge Lake.

Limestone Lake Recreation Site is 20km S, Puskwakau River Recreation Site is 20km E and Deschambault Lake (South East Arm) Recreation Site is 23km S of Twigge Lake.
Twigge Lake was named after Gerald Andrew Twigge on 1952-12-11 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
