Stack Lake was named after James Sullivan Stack on 1960-01-21 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.

Wonderful lake with a few good campsites on it. These sites have been used for thousands of years. Finding firewood at them is getting difficult. Although I believe in the last year a forest fire went through part of the area so maybe it will allow it to rejuvenate and heal from generations of Human use. Highly recommend playing in the rapids if you are trained to do so
