MacKay Lake Recreation Site is 28km N, Devil Lake Recreation Site is 8.6km NW, Dickens Lake Recreation Site is 12km WSW and Missinipe Recreation Site is 12km NNW of Hayman Lake.
Hayman Lake was named after Henry James Hayman on 1960-03-03 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
