Bakers Narrows Provincial Park is 22km NW, Tyrell Lake Recreation Site is 17km ESE, Amisk Lake Recreation Site is 25km NNE and Tyrrell Lake Recreation Site is 17km ESE of Whitehead Lake.
Whitehead Lake was named after Arthur John Whitehead on 1961-05-03 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
