Lac La Ronge Provincial Park is 47km NNW, Devil Lake Recreation Site is 23km WNW, Dickens Lake Recreation Site is 24km W and Missinipe Recreation Site is 24km NW of Watts Lake.
Watts Lake was named after Terence Graham Newcomen Watts on 1960-01-21 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
