Big Sandy Lake Recreation Site is 16km SSE and Jayjay Lake Recreation Site is 20km SSE of Warne Lake.
Warne Lake was named after Alfred Richmond Warne on 1952-03-06 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
