Thornton Lake is a small (121 acre) lake located 54km NNE of La Ronge and 266km N of Prince Albert.

Thornton Lake was named after Harvey Thornton on 1960-01-21 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
