The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Trout, Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike and Walleye can be found in Stein Lake.
There are no parks or communities on the lake.
Besnard Lake Recreation Site is 25km ENE of Stein Lake.
Stein Lake was named after Arthur George Stein on 1953-03-05 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
