Bakers Narrows Provincial Park is 25km NW, Tyrell Lake Recreation Site is 14km ESE, Amisk Lake Recreation Site is 24km NNE and Tyrrell Lake Recreation Site is 14km ESE of Standing Lake.
Standing Lake was named after Thomas Standing on 1961-05-03 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
