Narrow Hills Provincial Park to remain closed for the rest of the 2025 season

The very popular Narrow Hills Provincial Park will remain closed for the rest of the 2025 season. SaskParks previously announced that the campgrounds within the park would be closed for the 2025 season. Now on an update posted on the alert page it's mentioned that the entire park will remain closed for the rest of the 2025 season.

The park has been closed since early May when fires began to burn in the area. The SHOE Fire has caused significant damage to several campgrounds, and burnt a number of buildings at different lakes including the fire base at Lower Fishing Lake.

The announcement did mention that cabin owners will be allowed to return once public safety issues are resolved, but that the back-country areas of the park including all ATV trails will remain closed.

Narrow Hills Provincial Park is one of my favourite spots in the province, and I look forward to returning once it's safe and possible for us to do so.

In the meantime if the park closure has forced you to change your plans you can use the SaskLakes Search tool to explore other lakes in the province!
