Narrow Hills Provincial Park to remain close until June 26
Narrow Hills Provincial Park will remain closed until June 26th at the earliest. It was originally scheduled to be closed until May 29th but the SHOE Fire continues to burn within the park. There hasn't been an official announcement on the SaskParks FB Page but they sent out an email to those who had camping reservations in the park.
The park has also announced that even if the park re-opens the following campgrounds will remain closed for the rest of the 2025 camping season:
The campgrounds at Lower Fishing Lake and Baldy Lake will be closed until June 26th at the earliest, but may re-open. The parks didn't commit to anything and said damage still needs to be assessed.
Anyone with bookings at these campgrounds will have their bookings automatically cancelled after June 6, unless they contact the park and update their bookings to a campground that is open. You can do that by contacting the Reservation Call Centre by June 6 at 1-833-775-7275.
This is a sad update, but not surprising given the damage the fires have caused. I'm actually happy to see that they are even talking about re-opening some of the campgrounds. I'm taking that as a good news that we might actually be able to camp in the park again this summer.
