The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Ness Lakes. It was last stocked in 2019 with 150,000 Walleye Fry.

There are no parks or communities on the lake. Ness Lakes is partially within Big River No. 555 (Rural Municipality).

Big River Regional Park is 16km ENE, Nesslin Lake Recreation Site is 5.8km S, Delaronde Lake (Zig Zag Bay) Recreation Site is 12km ESE, Hackett Lake Recreation Site is 27km SSE and Top Lake Recreation Site is 9.5km SE of Ness Lakes.
