Kristi Lake

(Coubeaux Lake)

Kristi Lake (officially named Coubeaux Lake) is a tiny lake just north of Prince Albert on the edge of Little Red River Park.

There are trails around most of the lake for hiking in the summer and winter, and ski trails are groomed on both the south and north sides as well as on the lake itself by the Prince Albert Ski Club during the winter.

This is a really pretty spot to hike, ski, or just enjoy the forest. It's very close to the city and well worth a visit any time of year.

There is a parking lot with access to the Kristi Lake hiking trails near Marks Nine on the north side of the lake. On the south side it is possible to drive to the lake but you'll want a high-clearance vehicle and to make sure the road has been plowed during the winter.

It is very shallow and you won't find any fish here.

I've spent countless hours on this lake and skiing along the trails around it. It's one of my favourite spots in the Prince Albert area!

Coubeaux Lake was named after Belgian naturalist Eugene Coubeaux who spent time in Saskatchewan at the start of the 20th century.

This lake has been personally visited by myself, Matthew Siemens.

I've spent countless hours cross-country skiing on or around this lake. It's also a great spot for a hike or some bird watching!
