Lac La Ronge Provincial Park is 46km NNW, Devil Lake Recreation Site is 19km NW, Dickens Lake Recreation Site is 20km W and Missinipe Recreation Site is 22km NW of Gochagar Lake.
Gochagar Lake was named after Frank Gochagar on 1959-03-05 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
