Five Mile Dam

Five Mile Dam is a very tiny stocked pond in southern Saskatchewan. It is located 57km WSW of Swift Current, just S of the town of Gull Lake. Access to the pond is from a gravel road E off Highway 37.

The pond is stocked yearly with rainbow trout. Note there is a reduced trout limit on the pond.

The story I heard about the pond was that it was created by damning a small coulee to create a reservoir to supply water to steam engines.

How it got its name

I've heard from locals that it was named Five Mile Dam because it is five miles from Gull Lake.
