Granite Lake Recreation Site is 16km NW, Jan Lake Recreation Site is 14km NE and Leaf Rapids Recreation Site is 16km N of Corneille Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1933-04-18. The name Corneille Lake is of Cree origin.
