Videoed June 2025 - The Riverhurst Ferry is a free, 24-hour cable ferry on Highway 42 that crosses Lake Diefenbaker between Riverhurst (east) and Lucky Lake (west) in Saskatchewan. The seasonal crossing takes 10 to 15 minutes, departing the east shore on the hour and the west shore on the half-hour, operating on- demand overnight. The Riverhurst Ferry, Northwest of MooseJaw, opened in 1967 when the South Saskatchewan River was flooded to create Gardiner Dam on Lake Diefenbaker. There are 12 Ferries in Saskatchewan, and Riverhurst Ferry is the largest in Saskatchewan! There's even washrooms and a viewing room on the main deck!
