East Trout-Nipekamew Lakes Recreation Site is 28km NW and Clarence - Steepbank Lakes Provincial Park is 34km NNW of Venn Lake.
Venn Lake was named after Frederick Arthur Venn on 1955-04-07 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
