Thomas Lake was named after Oscar Donald Coslett Thomas on 2004-08-04 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government. Thomas Lake was previously known as:
- Coslett Lake from 1958-07-03 to 2004-08-04.
