The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Summit Lake. It was last stocked in 2019 with 100,000 Walleye Fry.

The lake is within Narrow Hills Provincial Park.

Cub Hills Game Preserve is 22km WSW, Whiteswan Lake (Whelan Bay) Recreation Site is 28km ENE, East Trout-Nipekamew Lakes Recreation Site is 27km SE, Little Bear Lake Recreation Site is 16km SSW, 106-Narrow Lake-120 Road Corridor Game Preserve is 15km SSW, Piprell Lake Recreation Site is 11km E and Clarence - Steepbank Lakes Provincial Park is 22km ESE of Summit Lake.
