The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike and Walleye can be found in Peitahigan Lake. It was last stocked in 2022 with 200,000 Walleye Fry.
The lake is within Meadow Lake Provincial Park.
Pine Woods Recreation Site is 18km N of Peitahigan Lake.
The lake was officially named on 1945-07-28. The name Peitahigan Lake is of Cree origin.
