RCMP Searching for Three Missing Men Near Jayjay Lake
La Ronge RCMP are asking for the public's help as the search continues for three men who went missing near Jayjay Lake in northern Saskatchewan.
The men, Roderick Bird, 49, Emil Ratt, 67, and Ricky McKenzie, 48, were last reported to be on Highway 165, approximately 10 kilometres north of Highway 106 near Jayjay Lake, at around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22.
According to RCMP, the three men were on a planned foraging trip and were travelling on foot.
Search Underway
Since they were reported missing, multiple agencies have joined the search, including:
- Saskatchewan RCMP Search and Rescue
- RCMP Police Dog Services
- Civil Air Search and Rescue Association (CASARA)
- Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA)
Police say all three men were wearing orange safety vests and sweatpants. At this time, no photographs of the individuals have been released.
RCMP Asking for Public Assistance
Anyone who has seen or spoken with the three men, or who has information about their whereabouts, is asked to contact La Ronge RCMP by calling 310-RCMP.
Investigators are also asking residents and travellers in the Jayjay Lake and Highway 165 area to review:
- Home security camera footage
- Doorbell camera recordings
- Dashcam video
from the evening of July 22 and throughout July 23. Anyone whose footage may show the missing men is asked to contact police immediately.
