2026-27 Saskatchewan Anglers Guide Now Available

The 2026-27 Saskatchewan Anglers Guide has been released by the Provincial Government and is now available online. This official guide provides all regulations for fishing across the province, including limits, seasons, and special closures. While most limits remain unchanged this year, there are a few seasonal closures anglers should be aware of.

New Changes for 2026-27

There were no changes to limits this year but there is a reduced season on three waters in the province.

  • Cutarm Reservoir - closed March 16 - May 5, 2026. All permanent ice shacks have to be removed by March 1, 2026
  • Loch Leven - southern 150 m will be closed to angling April 1 to May 31, 2026 and October 1 to November 30, 2026
  • Waldheim Trout Pond - closed November 1 to May 5, 2026

These closures are given with the year included which makes me think they are only in effect for this year but we'll see what next years Anglers' Guide says.

Proposed Changes for 2027-28

Looking ahead, the following changes have been proposed for the 2027-28 season.

  • Steep Creek Trout Pond - stocked trout limit two, open all year (currently the regular provincial stocked trout limit)
  • Meadow Lake Provincial Park - Walleye limit two, only one may exceed 55 cm; northern pike limit three, only one over 75 cm on all waterbodies within the park. (current limit for walleye is three, and northern pike are the regular provincial limit)
  • Grant Devine (Alameda) Lake - Walleye limit three, only one may exceed 55 cm (currently the regular provincial limit applies)
  • Province wide - Burbot limit four (currently eight)

If you have feedback on any proposed changes, email the ministry at [email protected] . Please include the waterbody or area in the subject line to help them process your comments.

I believe the biggest change here is the proposal to cut the provincial burbot limit in half! What do you think about these proposed changes?
