Part of Highway 263 closed in PANP Aug. 19 - 21

A section of Highway 263 (scenic highway) through the Prince Albert National Park will be closed from Aug. 19-21. The highway will be close from the Spruce River Highlands Trail Parking lot to the Tait Springs Parking lot. I believe they are doing some work on the bridge across the Spruce River after it was damaged and closed temporarily last year.

The park itself is still open. The northern part of the park including Waskesiu can be accessed on Highway 264 and Highway 2. In order to access the Freight Tait Springs Trail, Sandy Lake Campground, Elk Trail and Hunters Trail you'll need to go through the south gate on Highway 263.

It will still be possible to get from the north part of the park to the south, but you'll have to do a long detour on Highway 2. If you're planning on accessing the park through the scenic highway you may need to modify your route!
