Lac La Ronge Provincial Park is now open following closure due to the Pisew Fire

Lac La Ronge Provincial Park has now re-opened (June 26, 2025) after being closed due to the Pisew Fire. I drove through the park up to Missinipe last weekend and there are quite a few burnt areas along the highway.

Wadin Bay campground on Lac La Ronge will remain closed for the rest of the 2025 season. The Nemeiben Lake campground will remain closed until July 21, 2025. I drove past Wadin Bay last weekend and the fire burnt right up to the edge community.

Many parts of the park have burnt, so be prepared when heading up to the park and watch for hazards. There are still hotspots in the area.

Nut Point Trail

The road into the Nut Point Trail parking lot is blocked off and there are signs in the campground saying that the trail is closed. I haven't seen any information about when the trail will re-open.
