Skier Rescued After Falling Through Ice on Emma Lake
Emergency crews were called to Emma Lake on the morning of December 20, 2025 after a skier fell through the ice approximately 150 metres from shore. Lakeland Fire responded around 11:15 a.m. and found the individual in the water upon arrival. Firefighters donned dry suits and used RescueAlive equipment to safely bring the skier back to shore, where they were transferred to a waiting ambulance. No further details on injuries were released.
The Water Security Agency (WSA) has recently warned that ice conditions remain unstable across the province and is reminding the public to use caution and take all necessary precautions when heading out on the ice.
