The lake is in the central fishing zone. Lake Trout, Lake Whitefish, Northern Pike and Walleye can be found in Munro Lake.

Munro Lake was named after Hector William Munro on 1953-07-02 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
