The lake is in the southern fishing zone. Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Moosomin Lake. It was last stocked in 2022 with 100,000 Walleye Fry.

Moosomin and District Regional Park is adjacent to the reservoir. Moosomin Lake is partially within Maryfield No. 91 (Rural Municipality), partially within Moosomin No. 121 (Rural Municipality) and partially within Martin No. 122 (Rural Municipality).
