Hackett Lake Recreation Site is 22km WNW and Cowan Dam Recreation Site is 13km E of Glew Lake.
Glew Lake was named after Gordon William Glew on 1951-04-05 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
