Mission Lake

(Lebret Lake)

Mission Lake (sometimes called Lebret Lake) is a medium-sized recreational and fishing lake located 75km NE of Regina.

The lake is one of the four "Fishing Lakes" in the Qu'Appelle Valley. Echo Lake is upstream, Katepwa Lake is dowstream.

Mission Lake is accessible from Highways 22, 34, and 56. Highway 56 runs along the north shore of the lake for its entire width.

The Lebret Recreation Site is a small rec. site located within the village of Lebret. It has a boat launch and room for parking and that's about it.

Like the other Fishing Lakes, there are a huge number of different fish species that can be found in Mission Lake, including: Walleye, Northern Pike, Bigmouth Buffalo, Burbot, Common Carp, Yellow Perch, Whitefish, and Suckers.

Mission Lake was named after the Catholic mission at Lebret.

The Qu'Appelle River is both the main inflow and outflow for the lake. Another small creek, "Echo Creek," enters Mission Lake on the southwest corner.

Fort Qu'Appelle is at the west end of the lake between Mission Lake and Echo Lake. The village of Lebret and Wa-pii-moos-toosis Reserve are on the north shore of the lake along Highway 56.

This lake has been personally visited by myself, Matthew Siemens.

Pretty lake, but I had a hard time finding good public access. The only boat launch I saw was paid and not in the best shape.
