Fishing Qu'Appelle River And Round Lake

After previous success, we wanted to try Round Lake again. This time,at the beach. After a slow windy day at the beach. Our pickerel rigs and shrimp only managed some small perch. A thorough attempt at the beach push us to move to Qu'Appelle River, just south east of the lake. We'd caught catfish, just below the dam and were hopeful to see them again. Round Lake has some Large Channel Catfish, and several other species, including Walleye and Pike. The Qu'Appelle Valley is beautiful, and always proves to be good fishing. We used medium action rods with 10lb test. Other than the wind at the beach, the weather was nice. We have future trips planned for this area. Ice fishing Round Lake is quite appealing.
