My New Favorite Lure - Rapala Shad Rap | Catching Spring Walleye on a Shallow Sand Flat

Spring walleye are shallow and that’s a very important fact to recognize. It’s the middle of May, most walleye just finished spawning and they are looking desperately for food! Pasqua Lake Saskatchewan has a unique feature on the East shore where water is as shallow as 4 feet 100 meters out from shore. Always got to follow where the baits are and match the hatch. On this particular evening, I discovered my new favorite lure for shallow walleye and pike, it is the Rapala Shad Rap. I neve understood how different jerk bait or crank bait work until I put them on the test. The result was stunning, the shad rap was a fishing machine! I encourage you guys to try catching walleye in shallow water with lure, it’s so fun! Evening bites are just magical!
