Prairie Fishing Report Week 1-2023
Think shallow for Spring-early summer fish
Spring and early summer is a wonderful time for the shore angler and the boat angler. It’s because fish are shallow, with walleye and pike often in 1 to 4 feet of water along the lake’s edge. The reason they’re here is because the food chain begins in the shallows in the spring. Bugs hatch in the warmest shallowest water, and minnows gather for the feast. The predator fish we are interested in follow, and are ready and willing to bite your hook in shallow water at this time of year. Go to getfishing.ca for more.
