I’m Jason Matity with getfishing.ca. One of the hottest things you can do to get fish from following and watching your lure to actually striking it, is the stop and go method. Stop and go means you lift your rod tip real down to near the water’s surface then lift your rod tip and repeat. Your reelbait flasher jig, or boot tail swim bait will rise and fall, mimicking an escaping baitfish. Often a predator such as a walleye, pike or perch has no choice, but to strike the lure. All you need to do is set the hook.
