This is the Sandy Beach area of Goodspirit Lake, 20 minutes away from Canora, Saskatchewan, on May 6th, 2006. Usually, the snow and ice have melted by now. The further north you go, the worse it gets with flooding and snow, there are quite a few road closures from the flooding. The northwest, northeast, and east-central parts of the province are the worst affected, with road washouts closing highways and isolating some communities. Sandy Beach at Good Spirit Lake in Saskatchewan is a popular, family-friendly resort area on the lake's eastern shore, known for its shallow water, white sand beaches, and nearby sand dunes, all near Good Spirit Provincial Park. The lake, featuring natural five-story sand dunes, was historically nicknamed 'Devil's Lake' by settlers misinterpreting the Cree word for 'good spirit' (manitou); it has been a provincial park since 1931. (At the beginning of the video Lee's drone has the green propellers and my propellers are black) The music is unknown, but it is very calming.
