Doré Lake
Doré Lake is the seventh largest lake in Saskatchewan with a surface area of over 157,000 acres! It is a very popular fishing destination and is located 330km N of Saskatoon and 100km NE of Meadow Lake.
The northern hamlet of Dore Lake and most of the services on the lake are located on South Bay with access from Highway 924 and Dore Lake Airport.
There are a number of lodges, parks, recreational facilities, trails, and outfitters located at the lake. Most of these are located near the hamlet but Tower Lodge Outfitting is located on a peninsula in East Bay with access from Highway 917.
The Dore Lake Recreation Site is located on Michel Point which sticks out 16km into the lake. The recreation site has a campground, hiking trails, a sandy beach, and a fish filleting station.
There are a public boat launch in the rec. site just north of Tower Beach and paid boat launches in the hamlet, at Michel Point Campground, and several private launches at the various lodges.
Walleye, Northern Pike, Cisco, Lake Whitefish, Burbot, White Sucker, Longnose Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Doré Lake. Please not there is a custom limit for walleye on the lake and Bazill Bay is also closed to angling all year.
The Dore Lake Trails run from Michel Point around South Bay towards Bazill Bay. They are open year-round for hiking, biking, ATVing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling. They are free to us, and maintained by volunteers.
There are two wildlife refuges at Dore Lake: Bazill Wildlife Refuge and Rock Island Wildlife Refuge.
The main inflow for Dore Lake is the Sled River which originates at Sled Lake and flows into Bazill Bay on the west side of Dore Lake. The main outflow is the Dore River which flows out of Bazill Bay north into Beaver River.
