May 10, 2025Turkey vultures are found in Saskatchewan, along the river valleys and coulees. Turkey vultures roost together, often gathering in trees by the dozen to sleep for the night. They are often seen soaring in the summer thermals. In the past, they nested in caves along rivers or in dense brush piles, but more recently, they have also begun nesting in attics or basements of abandoned buildings. Turkey Vultures can be spotted roosting in the tall trees on the shore of Lac Pelletier Regional Park.
