Dore Lake, Smoothstone Lake, and Shirley Lake

Took a drive up to Dore Lake to setup a new lake camera. While I was there took the opportunity to explore the lake a bit, and pop in at Shirley Lake and Smoothstone Lake as well. This isn't an area of the province I'm very familiar with so it was a lot of fun to explore some lakes that were new to me!

Narrow Hills Provincial Park Spring 2026

I took a quick trip up to Narrow Hills Provincial Park this week to see how things are looking this spring. The Park was kind enough to give me permission to fly my drone to get some photos/videos showing what things look like after the fire.

The park was pretty seriously hit by the SHOE fire last summer was closed for much of the summer. Many of the lakes and campgrounds were impacted but the park has been hard at work and the park is now ready for visitors once again.

The Gem Lakes campsites are closed, but will be open for day use shortly.
