Thompson Lake is a medium sized (648 acre) lake located 264km NE of La Loche and 481km NNE of Meadow Lake (City).

Thompson Lake was named after Gordon William Thompson on 2003-10-07 as part of the GeoMemorial Commemorative Naming Program ran by the Sask Government.
