The lake is in the central fishing zone. Burbot, Cisco, Lake Trout, Lake Whitefish, Longnose Sucker, Northern Pike, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Peter Pond Lake.

Buffalo Narrows (Village) is adjacent the pond. Peter Pond Lake is partially within Peter Pond Lake 193 (Reserve) and partially within Turnor Lake 194 (Reserve).

Big Buffalo Beach Recreation Site is 13km WNW, Taylor Lake Recreation Site is 17km SSW and Gatehouse Island Wildlife Refuge is 46km NW of Peter Pond Lake.
