Majority of Prince Albert National Park closed due to Wildfire Risk (Updated June 2)
On June 2, additional areas were closed Due to the increased wildfire risk in Prince Albert National Park, the majority of the park has been closed. The Waskesiu Townsite, Waskesiu Lake, the Valleyview easy and moderate trails, and a short section of the Kingsmere Road are all that remain open after June 2.
As of June 2nd there are no wildfires in the park, but it is experiencing an extreme fire danger. The park remains open, but situation can change fast in the province so check with the Park and the Highway Hotline before venturing out!

Areas Closed as of June 2
- All backcountry areas in Prince Albert National Park
- All lakes, excluding Waskesiu
- Kingsmere Road west of the main marina
- Narrows Road
- Sandy, Namekus and Narrows campgrounds
- Valleyview trail network, excluding Valley View easy and moderate trails.
- All trails on Highway 263 and Cookson Road
