The lake is in the central fishing zone. Burbot, Cisco, Lake Trout, Lake Whitefish, Longnose Sucker, Northern Pike, Sauger, Walleye, White Sucker and Yellow Perch can be found in Mountain Lake.
Lac La Ronge Provincial Park is adjacent the lake, Holy Trinity Anglican Church/Stanley Mission Historic Site is adjacent to the lake, Holy Trinity Anglican Church and Stanley Mission Historic Site is adjacent to the lake.
