Lac des Îles
Lac des Îles is a massive fishing and recreational lake in central Saskatchewan. It is almost entirely within Meadow Lake Provincial Park. The Big Island Lake Reserve borders part of the southwest shore. The lake is just NW of Goodsoil and 74km WNW of the City of Meadow Lake. Lac des Îles is accessible from Highways 950 and 954.
There are four boat launches, multiple campgrounds, sandy beaches, private cabins, and many trails at the lake. This is a great family-friendly destination in a beautiful part of the province.
Murray Doell Campground is a provincial campground on the north shore of the lake. The campground has a beach, boat launch, and 43 electric campsites.
Big Island Cove Resort is on the south shore of the lake and offers rental cabins, campsites, a beach, and boat and paddle sport rentals. A general store carries tackle, souvenirs, confectionery and groceries.
Northern Cross Resort is just west of Big Island Cove Resort and offers full-service camping, modern cabins for rent, boat rentals and a beach.
Northern Pike, Yellow Perch, Walleye, Lake Whitefish, Burbot, White Sucker, Cisco and Longnose Sucker can be found in Lac des Îles. Note there is a custom limit for walleye on the lake.
This lake has been personally visited by myself, Matthew Siemens.
